At Seeds to Greens, we start everything we grow from seed. In early April, our greenhouse will be filled with young seedlings. Long growing season crops like herbs, tomatoes, leeks, squash and onions need that good head start. Cucumber, cabbage and kohlrabi do very well when transplanted into warm soil. To give you that early season taste of fresh lettuce and zucchini, Seeds to Greens starts these in the greenhouse.
In late May, we start seeding the main garden when the days are longer and the soil is warm enough for seeds to grow quickly. By mid-June, when frost is no longer a big problem, all the greenhouse transplants are put out and most of the seeded vegetables have sprouted.
